Interesting extremely well made 14 carat yellow gold and blue enamel badge pin. The stunning badge features a shield or Coat of Arms with an eagle and crossed sabres. In the US Military the eagle and crossed sabres denotes the rank of colonel in the cavalry, around the early 1900's. The badge was made by Folger Company at 180 Broadway New York and is stamped 14k. The navy blue enamel has '08 and some script that is unknown. The '08 could refer to the year 1908 or 8th battalion, irrespectively, the badge is stunning, very well made and is from the early 1900's. It is a great piece to investigate further and add to your collection of military badges.
