This exceptionally fine repoussée floral pattern with cutout detail is made in sterling 925 and fine silver 1000. The maker Herman Duhme born in Germany and moving to Ohio in 1834; became one of the most prolific and prominent silver manufacturers in the American midwest. Duhme & Co survived Herman's death in 1888, changing ownership and names several times, until it closed in 1910. This beautiful example dates to c1880 as it is stamped 925-1000 Fine, (this was only stamped on pieces between 1880-1890), Duhme & Co, Sterling and the model number 678. It is in great condition with just a minor scratches and a tiny ding to the inside bottom section. The bowl is monogrammed M.M and the total weight is 106.01 grams.
Dimensions are as follows:
Length 17.3 cm x Width 12.5 cm x Height 2 cm
This is the smaller of two identical floral designed bowls by the same maker and would have belonged to the same family as they carry the same monogram. Would be great to add both to your collection.
