Vintage IWC Schaffhausen 14K Gold Pocket Watch cal 65. The silver dial with black numerals, sub seconds at 6, matching blue steel hands is signed International watch Co Schaffhausen. The manual wind cal 65 lever movement is jewelled to the centre and is working well, just serviced by us, fully signed. The 14k gold 50.5mm fancy case with double snap back, inner back is metal and is in superb original condition, case is fully signed IWC 14k. Weighs 71.7 grams. One of the best looking IWC pocketwatches we have ever owned however the outer hinge has been repaired at somepoint.
The first IWC finger bridge movement was the Lépine Calibre 65, and its companion Savonette Calibre 66, both of which are known as “Lutetia” movements. Together these were produced in 38,740 examples between 1893 and 1930. Each had 16 jewels, beat at 18,000 half-beats per hour and were 41 mm (18 ligne) wide.
