19th C. Chinese Sterling Silver Circular Lided Box Chrysanthemums by Wang Nam

Antique, late 19th century, A Chinese export solid silver circular linded box, impressively decorated with chrysanthemums. In very good condition, monogramed to lid C.S.M.

Total weight 136 grams. Measures 7.5cm x 5cm high.

The base is Hallmarked Chinese silver (tested is 900+ standard), Maker's mark "WN" for Wing Nam & Company, important retail silversmith operating in Hong Kong from 1875 (for more information please see A. Von Ferscht, Chinese Export Silver 1785-1940, 4th edition 2015).
