20th Century Burmese Kammavaca Red & Gold Manuscript Chest
This Red & Gold Kammavaca chest was most likely used as a chest for storing highly ornate manuscripts of buddhist monk's texts, these chests were used in the upasampada (higher ordination) ceremony for Buddhist monks.
The chest is made from lacquered wood then decorated with glass.
