JUST SUPERB !!! 52cms in diameter x 1.5cms thick, it’s extremely heavy, approx 5 kilo’s at a guess. It's made of a dense / very hard wood, possibly African Blackwood or African Leadwood, but unsure. A few antique dealers were of the opinion it dates somewhere between 1900 & 1920, unfortunately no history is known about the item. Adorned with carved figures of Rhinoceros & Trees. Slightly warped otherwise in great condition. A must for the chess board collector.
