Description
On offer is a large, 100% genuine, first strike copperplate engraving from the 1787 book entitled “A New, Royal and Authentic System of Universal Geography, Ancient and Modern” published by Thomas Bankes & printed by Charles Cook, London. The book included engravings from Captain Cooks voyagers and other celebrated explorers journeys.
The engraving is entitled “A Dance at Otaheite of the Society Islands”. Overall it measures 23.5cms wide x 17cms, some foxing & marks as per photos. Looks far better than the photos depict. The rear is blank. Would look stunning framed.
