On offer is a large, 100% genuine, first strike copperplate engraving from the 1787 book entitled “A New, Royal and Authentic System of Universal Geography, Ancient and Modern” published by Thomas Bankes & printed by Charles Cook, London. The book included engravings from Captain Cooks voyagers and other celebrated explorers journeys.

Otaheite was the 1700s name for Tahiti. The 2 engravings are entitled “Various Instruments used by the Natives of Otaheite” and have been lightly hinged to acid free white backing. The page size measures 24.2cms wide x 39cms, some foxing & marks as per photos. Looks far better than the photos depict. The rear is blank. Would look stunning framed.
