Antique 19th C Carved Gaming Counter Box with Card Suit Tokens


Antique carved circular gaming counter box with matching round tokens, likely 19th century. The box features carved foliate decoration, beaded edging, ribbed sides, and black club suit decoration to the counters and lid. A charming survivor from the era of parlour gaming and card play, ideal for collectors of antique gaming pieces, counters, whist markers, and decorative smalls. Condition shows age-related patina, light discolouration and wear, old damage? to edge of inner lip, consistent with age and use. Material appears to be faux bone?, Measures 28.5mm across the lid.
