An impressive antique bronze and copper alloy bas relief plaque depicting a dramatic Arabian hunting scene.

The richly modelled composition portrays two mounted hunters in traditional Middle Eastern dress confronting a lion, surrounded by palm trees and a textured desert landscape. The pronounced relief creates an excellent sense of movement and depth, with the dark aged patina revealing warmer bronze highlights across the raised details.

The reverse displays the hollow form of the relief, consistent with traditional pressed or cast metal plaque manufacture. A distinctive decorative piece influenced by 19th century European Orientalist art and the romanticised depiction of Arabian hunting expeditions.

The plaque measures approximately 31cm × 23cm. weight 1280g
