Antique Decorative Black Starr & Frost Sterling Silver Footed Stand 301g

Antique, sterling silver, decorative shell footed stand for a glass bowl (missing). The main theme for the decoration are roses and shells with scalloped edges and beautiful swirls. Although the original glass bowl is missing, a modern day bowl could sit inside or a lidded circular glass jar. The silver stand could house a glass candle and numerous other options. The stand is entirely made in sterling silver and stamped to the rear with Sterling and Black, Starr & Frost. There are quite a few small repairs to the finer areas of the stand, otherwise it is in lovely aged condition. American company, Black Starr & Frost pieces date to around 1874 - 1908.
