Stunningly beautiful antique guilded .800 silver brooch set with a faceted hexagon shaped amethyst. The ornate brooch is vey Victorian in style with extravagant flourishes and acorn leaves around the setting. The amethyst has unfortunately, been scratched a little to the surface when you look closely but is still beautiful. The colour is a soft delicate lilac hue not strong purple. The brooch pin fitting is working well and the original C clasp fitting is stamped with a dogs head the number 3 and letter A for Vienna. There is a little jump ring where a safety chain would have originally been attached but this has disappeared over time. Being stamped with the dogs head dates the piece to between 1872 - 1922. A gorgeous treasure from the past to add to your collection.
