c.1927 Vintage Rolex Prince Brancard Tiger Stripe 18k Gold Watch & Box ref 971

A rare and early Rolex Prince Brancard reference 971 "Tiger Stripe", dating to 1927, presented in a distinctive 18k two tone gold rectangular case with yellow and white gold striped Art Deco detailing. The watch features a silver dial with bold Arabic numerals, large subsidiary seconds register and a 15 jewel manual wind Rolex movement marked Observatory Quality and Rolex Hairspring.

This is one of the most recognisable early Rolex Prince designs, affectionately known by collectors as the "Tiger Stripe" due to the alternating two tone gold case pattern. It is accompanied by a Rolex Prince presentation box marked "Rolex Prince The World's Finest Watch Made in Geneva", adding superb historical appeal.

A highly collectible early Rolex with Art Deco styling, 18k gold construction, Observatory Quality movement and excellent display presence.

It is in good condition and working well.

The "Tiger Stripe" version is the most visually famous 971 variant. It uses alternating bands of yellow and white gold across the rectangular case, giving the watch a strong Art Deco striped appearance.
