The wording on the base reads  MF ‘D & PLATED BY REED & BARTON  PAT. FEB. 24. 1880 GILT  984  The number 984 is either a pattern or factory / order number. Not engraved or monogrammed, the feature pattern looks like a Mountain & Lake scene, but could be wrong. Quite tall, it measures 20.5cms high x 8cms diameter base & weighs 317 grams. It is on a slight lean which is quite common for tall electroplated items of this era.
