c1930 RARE Superb Huge "The Popular Map of Australia" by Lucy Skevington.


On offer is a huge detailed coloured map of Australia entitled "The Popular Map of Australia" by Lucy Skevington & published by H E C Robinson Ltd, Sydney. It dates to c1930, as it shows Parliament House Canberra which opened in 1927. Around the border are various illustrations of Australian animals, Scenes from the various Cities & the Country, a mountain of typed information etc. Matted on acid free white board, overall it measures 82cms square, the map 70cms square. The map looks far better than the photos depict. Some creasing, folds, stains, foxing, tears and repaired tears.
