Description

Description

This large bowl by Colonial Silver Co, USA, is a stunning piece of antique silverware. Crafted from high-quality silverplate, this original North American rose bowl boasts a lovely bulbous design that is both elegant and timeless.

Hallmarked Colonial Silver Co, Quadruple plate, Portland, ME. to the underside
Rose bowls would normally come with a grid cover for the roses to stand up in, with water in the bottom of the dish. Unfortunately this bowl is missing its grid design cover. Scratches to the inner rim from where the original frog would have sat.
Size 19.5cm in diameter at the body x 8cm high

The Colonial Silver Company was at Portland, Maine. Apparently it was the successor to the Stevens Silver Company in 1899 and remained in business until the 1940s.
