Native American Zuni Frog Bear Turtle Fetish Necklace w/ Silver Rain Heishi 73.1g

This unique Native American Zuni, fetish necklace features bears. turtles, frogs and birds interspaced with silver rain heishi beadspacers. The term fetish refers to the likeness of an animals that is imbued with special significance and power, most often created by tribes of the American Southwest. The idea is that the wearer can ask for assistance from the animal fetish whenever needed. It is not hard to understand why the beads are referred to as silver rain heishi as they glitter like rain drops when the light catches them.

Each animal on the necklace has been formed with great care by the artist. The animals represent, strength, introspection, longevity and courage with a deep connection to mother earth.
