Sculptural Crucifixion attributed to Australian artist Nikolaus Johannes Seffrin, constructed from textured metal elements arranged in the form of a cross. The composition incorporates imagery associated with the Passion of Christ, including a circular crown of thorns at the centre, nails above and a ladder below. Finished with a heavily textured, dark patinated surface with areas of oxidation, giving the sculpture a distinctive rustic appearance. A small engraved "N" mark is visible on one of the lower left metal elements. An unusual and striking example of contemporary religious sculpture, displaying signs of age and surface wear consistent with its construction and finish. Please see photos. Dimensions: 61 x 48.5cm wide.
