On offer is a large English bookplate engraving by William Hogarth from the Industry & Idleness series, taken off the original 1700s plates. This was the last series produced from the original plates in 1822 by Heath. Paper size is 36.5cms x 27cms, image size just slightly less. Recently professionally restored with some traces of minor foxing. The rear is blank.

The engraving is entitled   The IDLE PRENTICE betrayed and taken in a Night - Cellar with his Accomplice   It is Plate 9 in the series.
