The watch features a charming painted countryside dial scene with a central time dial signed REUGE, marked 17 Jewels and Swiss Made. The lower section is decorated with a raised gilt automaton scene depicting a mounted huntsman, dog, water pump and female figure, set against a village landscape background.

The gold-tone case has a beautifully polished finish with ribbed side detail, pendant bow and winding crowns. As with Reuge's most collectible novelty pieces, this watch is part timepiece, part music box, and part miniature mechanical theatre.
