Super Rare / Huge "Prince George, Duke of Kent" (1902-1942) Photographic Bromide
The original photograph was taken in 1938 by photographer Hugh Cecil Saunders, who was the Royal Portrait Photographer during the 1920s & 1930s. It was taken 4 years before Prince George was killed in a RAF crash in Scotland, on his way to Iceland during WW2. His death marked the first time in 450 years that a member of the Royal family had died on active service. It is a very large photographic bromide with applied highlights measuring 76cms x 50cms. Its done on thick board & has a plastic sleeve covering it for extra protection, hence the light reflections in the photos
