Ulysse Nardin Mahogany & Brass, Two-Day Going, Marine Chronometer, dated from second part of the 20th C. The mahogany & brass case measures 19cm across the front x 18.5cm high x 19cm deep, working well and was serviced in the last 2 years by previous owner.
Calibe 95 mm. full plate, pillars, gilded brass, fusee chain, Earnshaw-type spring detent escapement, integral compensated brass-Invar Guillaume balance, free-sprung cylindrical hairspring, adjusted by the precision timer ("régleur") Werner Dubois, La Chaux-de-Fonds.
This type of marine chronometer is called by the Ulysse Nardin Manufacture "Chronomètre de marine grand format, 2 jours, calibre M. Gr. F. type Amirauté". It was developed by Paul-David Nardin (1856-1920) around 1900 and was used for almost half a century.
