Golden South Sea pearls are produced by the gold-lip Pinctada maxima oyster. Cultivated primarily in the Philippines, Indonesia and Myanmar, they are prized for their rich, warm hues, which range from soft champagne tones to deep, intense gold. Their colour is naturally determined by the oyster's environment and the unique nacre it secretes, layer by layer, around the bead nucleus.
