WWII era Swiss Model 1943 Officer's Dagger by Elsener Schwyz

A very attractive Swiss officer's dress dagger, marked Elsener Schwyz to the ricasso. The dagger features a bright spear point blade with central rib, polished metal guard and pommel, three rivet wooden grip, original black metal scabbard and decorative officer's portepee knot.

This style of dagger was introduced during WWII and is one of the most recognisable Swiss military dress daggers of the period. The Elsener Schwyz marking gives it excellent collector appeal, linking the piece to the famous Swiss knife making firm behind Victorinox.

The dagger presents very well with a clean blade on one side, the other with have left as found, bright fittings, good wooden grip and original scabbard. The red and silver portepee adds strong display presence.

Condition: Very good vintage condition overall. Light age related marks, sticky to one side of the blade and handling marks to the blade, fittings, grip and scabbard as photographed, leather clip has olmost worn through, see pics.

It measures approximately 36.5cm long.
