Description

Description

On offer is a large, 100% genuine, first strike copperplate engraving from the 1787 book entitled “A New, Royal and Authentic System of Universal Geography, Ancient and Modern” published by Thomas Bankes & printed by Charles Cook, London. The book included engravings from Captain Cooks voyagers and other celebrated explorers journeys.

The engravings are entitled “Captain Cook. New Hebrides & Erramangea”. Each measures 23.5cms wide, some foxing & marks as per photos. Looks far better than the photos depict. The rears are blank. Would look stunning framed as a pair.

Will be posted flat & not rolled to avoid creasing & damage.
