RARE Sudanese Khalifa Issued Coin Set in 1899 Sterling Silver by Sampson Mordan


Sudan, Omdurman - Abdullah Ibn-Mohammed Al-Khalifa, known as "The Khalifa", Sudanese Ansar ruler who was one of the principal followers of Muhammad Ahmad, "The Mahdi" The coin was originally "From the Khalifa's Treasure House - Omdurman", Sudanese coin issued by the Khalifa inset into a Sterling Silver pin tray with engraved legend, coin diameter 32mm, tray diameter 87mm with an overall weight of 48.3 grams, hallmarked London with date letter d for 1899 by Sampson Mordan & Co. Nice condition, in need of a light clean, some minor dents.
