René Lalique Sirènes Vase No.883 Blue Patina Frosted Glass c1920 35cm
An outstanding and extremely rare René Lalique "Sirènes" Vase, Model No. 883, first introduced in 1920. This monumental Art Deco masterpiece is executed in frosted moulded glass with an elegant blue patinated finish, retaining its original sculptural female figurine stopper (avec bouchon figurine).
The vase is decorated with beautifully modelled Sirènes (mermaids) in high relief encircling the body. Their flowing hair and graceful forms merge seamlessly into the glass, exemplifying René Lalique's unique ability to combine sculpture with functional design. The satin-frosted finish contrasts beautifully with the blue patina, highlighting the intricate detail and giving the piece remarkable depth.
Standing an impressive 35 cm high, this is among René Lalique's most significant and desirable early designs. Complete examples with the original figurative stopper are exceptionally scarce and are highly sought after by serious collectors and museums alike.
The underside is signed "R. Lalique France", confirming authenticity.
