René Lalique Inséparables Vase No.887 Blue Patina Frosted Glass c1919 Signed
An exceptional and highly sought-after original René Lalique Inséparables vase, featuring six pairs of beautifully sculpted budgerigars perched amongst elegant bamboo stems. This iconic design perfectly captures Lalique's fascination with nature and showcases the extraordinary level of detail and artistry that made his work world-renowned during the early Art Deco period.
This impressive example is executed in frosted moulded glass with a beautiful blue patinated finish that accentuates the intricate feather detailing and bamboo decoration. Standing approximately 34.5 cm tall, it is a striking display piece and one of René Lalique's most recognisable and desirable vase designs.
The underside is signed "R. Lalique France." The signature is very faint due to age and wear but is present, as shown in the photographs. Faint signatures are not uncommon on authentic examples from this period.
Original Inséparables vases are highly prized by collectors and museums alike, representing one of René Lalique's finest artistic achievements. Their combination of elegant form, outstanding craftsmanship and timeless naturalistic decoration ensures they remain among the most desirable works produced by the master glassmaker.
Condition is very good overall, with the frosted finish and blue patina presenting beautifully. There is only light age-related wear consistent with an original piece that is over 100 years old. No obvious chips, cracks or repairs are noted.
