Description

Beautiful vintage 1950's sterling silver and Pāua shell set brooch made in New Zealand. The pretty brooch is stamped to the rear with the little butterfly logo for the Ātaahua brand STG for sterling silver and S N.Z. and model number 743. The delightful pāua shell piece has a radiating ribbed pattern set into the polished bezel setting. In New Zealand Te Reo Maori, the word ātaahua translates as beautiful and this little brooch certainly is. The colour of the pāua shell is a more pastel hue, with softer greens, pinks and gold. The hinge and pin are working really well and the brooch has been polished to wear.
