René Lalique Aras Vase No.919 Clear Grey Patina c1924 Signed R. Lalique France

An exceptional original René Lalique "Aras" vase, model No. 919, first introduced in 1924 during the height of the Art Deco period. This highly sought-after design features beautifully moulded macaws (parrots) perched amongst dense tropical foliage and fruiting branches, showcasing Lalique's extraordinary ability to combine naturalistic subjects with elegant sculptural form.

This example is finished in clear glass with a subtle grey patina, highlighting the intricate relief of the birds and foliage while creating depth and contrast across the surface. The rounded globular body and short flared neck complement the flowing decoration, making the vase impressive from every angle.

The "Arias" pattern is regarded as one of René Lalique's finest bird-themed designs, demonstrating the artistic innovation and technical mastery that established Lalique as one of the most important glassmakers of the 20th century. Early original examples remain highly desirable among collectors of French Art Deco glass.

Condition is very good overall with no obvious chips or cracks visible in the photographs. The original grey patina remains present and enhances the finely moulded decoration. The vase is signed "R. Lalique France" to the base.
