Description
René Lalique Châtaignier Vase No.1092 Clear Sepia Patina c1933 Signed France
René Lalique "Châtaignier" vase, model No. 1092, first introduced in 1933. This elegant Art Deco design features a repeating chestnut leaf (châtaignier) motif in beautifully moulded frosted relief over clear glass with a warm sepia patina. The graceful flared form and finely detailed leaf decoration are characteristic of René Lalique's mastery of combining natural forms with sophisticated geometric styling.
This example retains its attractive original clear and sepia finish, highlighting the intricate leaf pattern that wraps continuously around the body of the vase. The understated colouring gives the vase exceptional depth and makes it equally suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
The underside is signed "R. Lalique France", confirming its authenticity as an original period René Lalique production.
A highly collectible model from Lalique's celebrated 1930s output, the Châtaignier vase is sought after by collectors of Art Deco glass and René Lalique works alike.
