René Lalique Oursin Vase No. 10-888 Orange Opalescent Glass c1935 Signed

René Lalique "Oursin" (Sea Urchin) Vase No. 10-888, designed in 1935. One of René Lalique's final and most distinctive Art Deco vase designs, the Oursin features a striking spherical form inspired by the texture of a sea urchin. This example is finished in beautiful orange opalescent glass, with alternating frosted and polished panels that enhance the depth and brilliance of the design.

The vase is signed "R. Lalique France" to the underside and retains crisp moulded detail throughout. The vibrant orange opalescent colouring glows beautifully in natural light, highlighting the raised sea urchin texture and creating an ever-changing display of colour and light.

The vase is in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs noted. The rim is clean, the mould definition remains sharp, and the glass displays only light age-related wear consistent with careful ownership.

Designed in 1935, the Oursin is among René Lalique's most recognisable late-period creations and remains highly sought after by collectors of French Art Deco glass. Its sculptural form and vibrant opalescent finish make it an exceptional display piece and an excellent investment-quality example.

Provenance From an important single owner collection of René Lalique glass. Part of Harrington & Co's "Once in a Lifetime René Lalique Collection of 97 pieces".
