Important René Lalique Grande Boule Lierre Vase No. 877 Designed 1912

An exceptional opportunity to acquire one of René Lalique's most celebrated and elusive pre war creations, the magnificent Grande Boule Lierre vase, Model No. 877, designed in 1912.

Representing the height of Lalique's artistic vision before the First World War, the design features delicately moulded climbing ivy vines flowing gracefully across a perfectly proportioned spherical body. The restrained decoration and monumental form create an object of remarkable elegance, widely regarded as one of the master's finest botanical designs.

Executed in frosted clear glass with subtle sepia stained relief, this example retains superb original definition throughout. The satin finish remains crisp, the polished neck is original and unworn, and the engraved R. Lalique France signature is present to the underside. The base displays only honest shelf wear consistent with age, with no chips, cracks or restoration observed.

Unlike many celebrated Lalique designs that appear regularly at auction, the Grande Boule Lierre is genuinely scarce. Comparable public offerings are exceptionally infrequent, with only a handful of major auction appearances over the past two decades.

This vase comes from an important single owner collection of René Lalique glass and forms part of Harrington & Co's "Once in a Lifetime René Lalique Collection", a carefully curated group of museum quality pre war works by the master.

For the discerning collector, opportunities to acquire a Grande Boule Lierre of this calibre are exceptionally rare. It is not merely a decorative object, but one of the defining masterpieces of early twentieth century French decorative arts.
