An exceptional and highly desirable René Lalique "Salmonidés" vase, Marcilhac No. 1015, designed on 9 July 1928 and regarded as one of the master's most spectacular aquatic creations. The powerful spherical form is enveloped by a swirling school of salmon in high relief, set against sharply faceted Art Deco geometric motifs, while the broad collar is finished with an elegant fish scale pattern.

Executed in opalescent mould blown glass with its original blue patiné, the vase displays outstanding depth, contrast and sculptural detail. Every fish is crisply modelled, capturing the movement and vitality that made Lalique's naturalistic designs among the defining achievements of the Art Deco period.

The base is moulded "R. LALIQUE FRANCE" and additionally wheel engraved "R. Lalique France No. 1015", confirming its authenticity as an original pre war production.

The model appeared in the 1932 Lalique catalogue, was discontinued in 1937 and was never reintroduced after 1947, making original examples particularly scarce and highly sought after by collectors.

Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or restoration, minor wear to base consistant with age, importantly it has its full rim, not ground down, please see pics for condition.
