René Lalique "Dauphins" Vase No. 10-900 Opalescent Blue Glass c1932
An exceptional René Lalique "Dauphins" vase, Model No. 10-900, designed in 1932. Inspired by the movement of dolphins swimming through gently rolling waves, this elegant Art Deco design beautifully demonstrates Lalique's mastery of sculptural glass. The vase features a tapered form decorated with horizontal flowing wave bands that reveal finely moulded dolphins beneath the surface, creating a striking illusion of movement and depth.
This example is executed in beautiful opalescent blue glass, a highly desirable colourway that glows with soft blue highlights as the light passes through the frosted and polished surfaces. The combination of satin and clear finishes enhances the aquatic theme and makes the vase particularly impressive when displayed with natural light.
