René Lalique Avallon Vase No. 986 Sepia Patinated Frosted Glass c1927 Art Deco

René Lalique Avallon Vase, Model No. 986, designed in 1927. One of René Lalique's most attractive Art Deco designs, the Avallon features finely moulded birds perched amongst fruiting vines and foliage, beautifully highlighted by its original sepia patinated finish. The model measures approximately 14.5cm in height and was produced in a variety of finishes including clear, opalescent and sepia stained glass.

This example retains its original sepia patina, with crisp moulded detail throughout and a beautifully frosted finish that enhances the sculptural birds and berries. The underside is signed "R. Lalique France."

Condition is very good overall. There are scratches to the top rim and wear and scratching to the underside base consistent with age and use. No chips, cracks or restoration are noted, and the vase displays beautifully.

A highly desirable pre-war René Lalique design and an excellent addition to any Art Deco glass or Lalique collection.
