René Lalique "Farandole" Vase No. 1052 Frosted & Clear Glass c1930

Designed by René Lalique in 1930, the Farandole vase (Model No. 1052) is one of the finest examples of his late Art Deco period. The design features a continuous band of dancing nude female figures in high relief, joined together in a lively circular procession around the body. The sculptural figures contrast beautifully against the textured frosted background, while the broad flared rim gives the vase a striking architectural form.

This example is executed in clear frosted glass with polished highlights, showcasing the exceptional quality of Lalique's moulding and finishing. The underside is moulded "R. Lalique France."

Condition

Very good original condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. There is a small original manufacturing air bubble to the rim, as photographed, which is a typical production feature found in period Lalique glass. The vase displays beautifully with crisp moulded detail and excellent satin finish throughout.
