René Lalique "Domrémy" Vase No. 979 Clear Frosted Glass c1926
An exceptional René Lalique "Domrémy" vase, Model No. 979, designed on 16 November 1926. One of Lalique's most iconic botanical creations, the Domrémy features magnificent flowering thistles in bold high relief, inspired by the wild flora of the French countryside. The model was produced throughout the Art Deco period before being discontinued after 1947, making original René Lalique examples highly sought after by collectors.
Executed in beautiful clear satin frosted moulded glass, the vase displays a rounded body with a gently tapering foot and cylindrical neck. The sculptural thistle flowers, sweeping leaves and finely textured foliage catch the light beautifully, showcasing Lalique's unrivalled ability to combine nature with elegant Art Deco form.
Signed "R. Lalique" to the underside.
