René Lalique "Malines" Vase No. 957 - Blue Frosted Glass - c.1924 Art Deco

An exceptional original René Lalique "Malines" (Feuilles Pointues) Vase No. 957, one of René Lalique's finest botanical Art Deco designs. Created on 27 August 1924, the model first appeared in the 1928 René Lalique catalogue and remained in production until 1937, never being reintroduced after the post-war period.

This beautiful example is executed in blue frosted moulded glass, featuring a compressed globular body with a gently flared neck and deeply moulded alternating pointed leaf motifs that wrap around the vase. The contrast between the satin frosted finish and polished relief creates a striking play of light, highlighting Lalique's unrivalled ability to combine sculpture and glassmaking.

The underside is signed "R. Lalique France".

This vase comes from an important single-owner René Lalique collection and forms part of Harrington & Co's "Once in a Lifetime René Lalique Collection of 97 Pieces."

Condition
