Description
René Lalique "Ibis" Vase No. 1099 - Clear Frosted Art Deco Glass - c.1934
A beautiful René Lalique "Ibis" vase, Model No. 1099, designed in 1934 during the final decade of René Lalique's career. The design features elegant ibis birds standing amongst reeds, finely moulded in relief around the body, reflecting Lalique's enduring fascination with nature and his mastery of Art Deco glass design.
Executed in clear moulded glass with the original satin frosted finish, the vase is enhanced by a polished flared rim that creates a striking contrast with the frosted decoration. The sculptural form and exceptional detail capture light beautifully, making the Ibis one of René Lalique's most admired bird-themed designs.
Signed "R. Lalique France" to the underside.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. Light surface wear and minor scratches to the polished rim and underside consistent with age and careful cabinet display.
Provenance
From an important single owner collection of René Lalique glass.
