Offered here is one of René Lalique's most celebrated and visually striking Art Deco creations, the magnificent "Penthièvre" vase, Model No. 1011. Introduced in 1928, The design features a dramatic arrangement of stylised angelfish swimming through geometric waves, perfectly capturing the movement and elegance that defined Lalique's mature artistic vision. The model is illustrated in the standard reference by Félix Marcilhac and is recognised as one of the flagship vase designs of the René Lalique period.
This exceptional example is executed in the highly desirable red amber glass, with the contrasting satin and polished finish dramatically highlighting the sculptural fish in relief. The rich ruby tones become particularly vibrant when illuminated, making this one of the most spectacular colour variations produced.
