Description
René Lalique "Champagne" Vase No. 1004 Grey Double-Cased Glass c.1927
An exceptional René Lalique "Champagne" vase, Model No. 1004, designed on 8 December 1927. One of Lalique's boldest geometric Art Deco designs, the vase features a rounded body formed from large hemispherical lobes alternating with sharply faceted projections, creating a striking sculptural effect from every angle.
This example is executed in desirable grey double-cased (double couche grise) glass, a scarce and highly sought-after colourway that beautifully enhances the depth and form of the design. The subtle smoky grey tone and heavy cased construction exemplify Lalique's mastery of light, texture and modernist design.
Signed "R. Lalique France" to the underside.
