René Lalique "Fougères" Vase No. 923 - Plum Frosted Glass - Designed 1912 - Signed
An exceptional and authentic René Lalique "Fougères" Vase, Marcilhac No. 923, one of Lalique's earliest and most celebrated Art Nouveau glass designs.
Designed in 1912, the Fougères vase takes its inspiration from unfurling fern fronds, with beautifully sculpted relief decoration flowing around the body. The raised rounded bosses create striking light and shadow, while the rich plum (amethyst) frosted glass with darker polished highlights accentuates every detail.
This example bears the engraved "Lalique" signature to the rim and is illustrated in Félix Marcilhac's Catalogue Raisonné (No. 923). The model was introduced in 1912, appeared in Lalique's 1928 catalogue, was removed in 1932, and was not reintroduced after 1947, making original René Lalique examples increasingly sought after by collectors.
